Overall, there are many types of technologies used by Travel Agents to help your grow your business. This includes everything from website builders, social media marketing tools, and email marketing tools to help you attract new customers to CRMs, invoicing, and itinerary management tools to help you sell to existing and new customers, and more.
When implementing technology it’s always best to take incremental steps. Think about your own business and where your biggest pain points or time sinkholes exist. If you spend too much manually collecting payments from customers, then start by implementing an invoicing tool and if you spend too much time organizing client itineraries or quotes, then start with an itinerary management tool. Capture efficiencies where they matter most in your business!
The International Travel Agent Forum in Cancun last month provided a fantastic opportunity for Travel Agents to learn more about the types of technologies that impact travel businesses as well as strategies for implementation. The education sessions allowed Agents to not only build a critical understanding of the these technologies but also learn directly from Agents themselves and even technology providers with real world examples, successes, and even missteps. Great, honest conversations are often hard to come by.
Looking ahead to the Travel Agent Forum in Las Vegas next March, the educational offering for technology will be growing exponentially. Agents will be able to not only learn about various technologies and how they can help them grow their business, but also deep dive on specific areas, gain an insight on the nuances of different products, and build your own technology plan to make 2019 your best year ever!
